About Glitterati. . .

Glitterati ProductionsTM was founded by John Nasca and Tiffany Nasca and later joined Christine Rivera and Michelle McKenzie-Voigt. Glitterati's first production was a commercial production of Moon Over Buffalo by Ken Ludwig which ran three month at the Theatre Building Chicago. Next was the classic The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me by David Drake.
Separately the Glitterati ensemble has been involved with many theatrical venues including Circle Theater, The Halsted Theater Centre, Tony n Tina's Wedding, Pegasus Players The Theater Building, Pride Films and Plays, and the Drury Lane Theater. Future plans include producing several works which are under consideration. The Glitterati producers are dedicated to the American art form of musical theater and sophisticated comedies.

John Nasca-Producer, Director, Designer: Either as a Producer, Director, Designer or Manager, John has been involved in the Chicago theater community for several years. John's first production company was Palladium Productions, which was part of the early wave of store front theaters in the area. He is also the Co-founder of Glitterati Productions and an Artistic Associate for Pride Films and Plays. He is also the proud recipient of three Jeff Recommendations and an After Dark Award.

As a director, some of John’s favorite gigs were Moon Over Buffalo, Gypsy, No, No, Nanette, The Ritz, Beautiful Thing and the staged reading of Mr. Shaw Goes to Hollywood.

John's costume work included such high profile productions of Vampire Lesbians of Sodom for Hartzell Productions, Anyone Can Whistle for Pegasus Players, Noises Off for producer/director Michael Leavitt, the Midwest premier of Metropolis for Academy Award winner Joseph Brooks, Die! Mommie, Die!, Poseidon, the Upside Down Musical and Lady Ex all for Hell in Handbag Productions and Phantom for Porchlight Music Theatre. Other favorites include The Miracle Worker, Guys and Dolls, Chicago, Me and My Gal, The Little Foxes, Follies, Rigaletto, Annie, The Great White Hope, Tintypes, The Women, On the Waterfront and Something’s Afoot

John also spent four years as the Business Manger for Tony Award winner Michael Frazier at the Halsted Theatre Centre. As part of the production team he managed A Evening with Quentin Crisp and On the Boulevard starring Liliane Montevecchi. He also made his couture debut at I. Magnim on Michigan Ave, which showcased his evening wear and bridal designs. (click here to see more of John's work)
Tiffany Nasca-Associate Producer, Graphics/Web Designer: Tiffany's career in the theatre started as a box office assistant for Broadway Producer Michael Frazier at The Halsted Theatre Centre. She attended Columbia College where she studied Film and Theatre Production and since that time, she has worked in various capacities for several Chicago venues. Favorite productions that she has been a part of are: Follies, The Life, Imitation of Stardom, Heidi Chronicles, Moon Over Buffalo, and Poseidon! An Upsidedown Musical.

Michelle McKenzie-Voigt-Company Member: Born in Texas but raised in New England, Michelle is an Actors Equity Membership candidate and a summa cum laude graduate of Northwestern University, where she was a double major in theater and art history. She returned to the stage in 2008 after a 10-year absence and has been blessed to be busy ever since. Her first role upon her return also remains her favorite: Rose in Gypsy, directed by John Nasca. With roles ranging from Shakespeare (Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet) to camp (the Captain in Poseidon: An Upside-Down Musical), favorite recent credits include From Generation to Generation (Norma – Midwest premiere), The Wedding Singer (Grandma Rosie – Midwest premiere), Beautiful Thing (Sandra), All Shook Up (Sylvia), and the title role in Mame. For many years, she was an Associate Director for Chicago Tonight on WTTW Channel 11 and program host for classical music station 98.7 WFMT on Saturday afternoons. She is a game show winner, the happily married mother of a wonderful son, and plays a fierce game of cutthroat charades.
Christine Rivera-Associate Member: Upon returning to Chicago with her BA in English from the University of Iowa Christine kick started her theatrical endeavors on the backstge crew of the North Riverside workshop production of Moon Over Buffalo.

When not actively producing Glitterati is a team of industry professionals lending their talents to various production companies in the Chicagoland area. Combined they bring with them over 30 years of theatrical experience from directing to costuming to wigs and make-up to back stage tech, Glitterati has it covered. With a flare for glam and glitz Glitterati leaves an indelible mark on any production.
